Shawn moved to Colorado in 1995 and was recruited into an inline speedskating club. During this time, he won a few national rankings and became a pro inline racer. Shawn switched to short track ice with hopes of competing in long track as many of his former inline skating friends had. By the time the 2002 Olympics came around, Shawn's priority switched to being a dad.

Following the 2006 Olympics, Shawn was offered another chance to apply his passion for the sport as a coach with Colorado Gold and this is where he has been ever since. "It’s an honor to help support others in achieving their goals in the sport."

We are excited about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead. We are always looking for new challenges and ways to grow as a team.

Colorado Gold Speedskating is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The club provides the general public the opportunity to

discover the sport of speedskating by providing instruction, rental skates, safety equipment, and dedicated ice sessions.

All Colorado Gold board members and coaches are volunteers. One-hundred percent of fees, dues, and donations collected go

entirely to supporting our program costs in the form of ice usage fees, rental skates, and safety equipment.
